I’m a creative writer with an eclectic administrative and project management background, developed throughout a myriad of communications and customer service/client relation’s positions. I have extensive experience: managing a team, writing detailed reports, acting as a communications liaison, counseling college aged folks, resolving conflicts, multi-tasking customer service issues, recruiting and HR initiatives and planning events. Sports. Music. Superlatives. I write about issues I’m passionate about. I’m a raving fan, not a critic, yet when I put the pen to the pad I certainly want to give you something more than, “boy, I sure do love those Foo Fighters.” I have an insatiable thirst to understand how people pursue their favorite bands, sports and other pop culture entities. Austin, Texas band, Voxtrot, once said, “I have to lose my idols to find my voice.” I strive to catalyze prose that’s drenched, but not entrenched in my main influences: Chuck Klosterman, Bill Simmons, Steve Martin, Malcom Gladwell, Jim Rome, Colin Cowherd, Slyvia Plath and Walt Whitman. I’m in pursuit of climbing the blogosphere ladder—one album review, band profile, live concert review and/or various sports-based musing at a time. Feel free to reach me here or at ryan.zerfas@gmail.com. I am currently freelancing while pursuing new opportunities.
