The Collie Shire Council is a medium sized local authority, with a total revenue of approximately $6.976M. The Shire covers an area of 1,685 sq km, set amongst 78% State Forest in a water catchment of state significance (Wellington Dam).I was employed by the Shire of Collie partway through my Engineering Diploma. My direct manager was the Shire Engineer who was my primary mentor. Many aspects of my position was survey related and therefore my secondary mentor was the Shire Surveyor.
