Located in the College of Business and Public Administration, I teach undergraduate courses in world geography, population dynamics, spatial analysis, and economic geography.Student Advising: Mentor and advise 25 undergraduate students. Schedule meetings and create strategic course load plans for students each semester. Advocate for student needs and direct students to campus resources.Lesson Planning and Public Speaking: Draft, create, and revise lesson plans, activities, and lectures for classes. Classes meet 1-3 times per week and last between 1-3 hours. Implement small group collaboration, peer learning and review, and interactive lectures. Foster constructive approaches to learning and understanding through activities based on course concepts with real-world applicability.Writing Focused: Work with students to cultivate academic and technical writing skills. Provide weekly feedback on the creation of memos, papers, and research reports to increase clarity, brevity, and style.Research Design: Develop student understanding of the research process to answer questions. Assist students in creating research questions, identifying the data needed to answer these questions, and designing the data collection and management procedures. Data Analysis and Visualization: Enhance student familiarity with a variety of methods to convey data to audiences. This includes qualitative data analysis through MAXQDA, quantitative analysis and visualization through R and ggplot2, and mapping via ArcGIS, QGIS, and Google Earth Pro.

Member of a National Science Foundation (#1261770) grant entitled, “Building Knowledge Capital in Specialized Financial Centers” ($99,361). The research explored the emergence of Manama, Bahrain and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as leading Islamic financial centers.Database Management: Cultivated and maintained a comprehensive database of financial institutions, credentialing agencies, and regulators in Manama and Kuala Lumpur. Survey Construction and Distribution: Assisted the development of a survey instrument designed to elicit information concerning firm perceptions and hiring practices. Oversaw the distribution of the survey instrument and the data collection via Qualtrics. Cleaned survey data and prepared it for analysis. Key informant interviews: Identified and interviewed financial professionals, regulators, and scholars concerning the development of new products, the rationales and impacts of new legislation, and business climate perspectives.Instructor of Record for courses in Economic Geography (GEOG 304 - 100 students) and Planet Earth Lab (GEOG 213 - 25 students)
