Highlights: - Obtained full dismissal of putative class action in federal district court in Utah alleging violations of California usury and consumer protection laws on federal preemption grounds. - Won a federal disability discrimination putative class action on grounds that eBay is not a place of public accommodation under the ADA. - Received early summary judgment in a federal TCPA putative class action that helped shape the law in the TCPA context.

Helped open a new office for Hogan & Hartson in Northern California. While at the firm, I represented plaintiffs and defendants in all aspects of class action litigation, including briefing and arguing motions and applications, written discovery, depositions, and mediation. Highlights: - Represented a group of tenants in East Palo Alto, California in a putative class action lawsuit against their landlord and obtained a preliminary injunction preventing their landlord from enforcing rent hikes under the city's rent control ordinance. I briefed and argued a successful motion to set aside the discovery stay that typically applies when a motion under California's Anti-SLAPP Law is filed and successfully opposed the landlord's Anti-SLAPP motion. I also overcame a motion to disqualify my firm filed by the landlord and prepared trial court and appellate briefing in connection with the same. - Represented one of our country's largest food processing companies (ConAgra Foods) in a putative class action accusing the company of violating California's Unfair Competition Law and Consumer Legal Remedies Act. I drafted a successful motion to dismiss the case on federal preemption grounds; the case was ultimately dismissed with prejudice.

I represented a Fortune 500 software company in consumer class actions and an investigation by the New York Attorney General's Office. I also represented a former director of a public company in a federal securities fraud class action and shareholder derivative litigation. I interviewed client personnel and prepared them for depositions, briefed motions and ex parte applications, and prepared supporting declarations and evidence.
