A Student Hall Coordinator is responsible for helping to develop an atmosphere in the residence hall in which students have a concern and respect for the rights and responsibilities of others as well as their physical surroundings. SHC's facilitates the planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting of programs, which encourage the development of students, and serves as a catalyst to initiate and promote activities which develop community in the residence hall. SHC's makes an effort to be awareness of student attitudes, academic difficulties, and health problems and utilizes helping skills to assist in the resolution of student concerns. Will act as a role model to all students in academics, personal habits, and general areas of community living. SHC's abide by and enforce all College policies on a campus-wide basis. The role of an SHC is similar to that of an RA or JC, with the exception that SHC's handle team related administrative duties such as scheduling during the academic year and advising the dorm's Hall Council.
