What were you doing at age 5?I was playing with Legos and Lincoln Logs. This typical experience for any child would foreshadow my career as I became an adult.After graduating from Hopkins, I took a job as a structural engineer – my dream as a kid. I worked for several years gaining technical engineering experience and building analytical problem-solving skills. I passed the PE license exam and am a registered professional engineer. However, I yearned for more. I wanted to learn the business of business. I decided to get my MBA.School was a risk-free environment - I was on several club boards and held other various leadership positions. Throughout my experience, I narrowed down my career pivot to consulting. Although some would argue that consulting isn't narrowing at all as I enjoyed the vast array of work and client facing opportunities.I cut my post-MBA teeth in the consulting world for a few years and then subsequently moved onto Wayfair when my family started to grow. I continually saw opportunities for personal and professional growth. This led me to the startup game and I excitedly joined Perch, before Perch bought a single business. Throughout all my experiences, I've cherished the people I've been fortunate to work alongside. Several (umm, many) years have passed since my college athletic career, but I still rely on many of the valuable learnings, such as teamwork, dedication, and perseverance, in my business career. Whether it is designing a building structure, a strategic business vision, or an operational process, I value building teams that are transparent, honest, and creative in working through challenges. I lead by example and embrace a transformational style of leadership.
