My position requires a lot of flexibility and versatility, as well as a great amount of time away from home.My responsibilities are vast, but my main priorities are ensuring all electrical equipment is running perfectly throughout every day of a race week, and be prepared to quickly and efficiently repair any fault that may occur. This in turn relies on me to ensure I have a great stock with me of spare components and equipment with me around the world.Throughout the year, I am proactively seeking continuous improvement for all our systems and equipment and when I am back in the country it is my duty to brainstorm, design and build new equipment and systems to provide more efficient operations for when we are trackside. This can vary from simple set up solutions to more intricate control circuits to provide fault alarms, backup power etc.I am the only high voltage electrician employed at the team which provides me with the freedom to create and build the whole team electrical set up exactly as I require it. This gives me great pride in my job but also provides the company with a faultless electrical installation at every Grand Prix. Of course every part of this job will be cosmetically criticised by the spectators who will see it, so ensuring an outstandingly neat job is a huge priority in all the work I undertake. The job is very rewarding personally and keeps me challenging myself.

Garage set up for McLaren F1 Race Team

Electrical Mechanical Service Engineer.Responsible for scoping work, organising and planning with Project managers from start to finish, to ensure a completed job to the highest standard.Involved in a lot of three phase work. Specialise in installing pump systems amongst a lot of other things. Install pumps, motors and panels. - Install various containments and enclosures, Cable tray, conduit, trunking, ducting etc.- Various cables from large cables for big motor installs to multicore cables for control gear.-Panel installs, three-phase and single-phase motor installs, submersible and dry pump installs.-Pipework installations-PVC/ABS pipework-Bearings-Variable Speed Drives-Soft Starts- Motorised Valves- Electrical Circuit Designing-Emergency callout which includes fault finding, organising for different procedures to enable full operation of sites to perform to their needed capabilities and prevent flooding.-Working within confined spaces, underground, this has to be taken into consideration when planning a job.-Scoping of jobs, planning what equipment and plant is needed to complete jobs, ordering parts through storeman etc.- Various amounts of Health & Safety paperwork. Finished apprenticeship here. Learnt a lot about three phase on top of my single phase knowledge, Completed my C&G Level 3 in Electro-techno Technologies and NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations. Finished my college off completing my AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2). More on my job role is on my current position.

Installation if various IT solutions. Installed Projectors, SmartBoards, Screens, Flat screen TV installs, commercial electrics, Fibre optic cabling, Data cabling, Data switch installs, complete data cabinet installs. A lot of contract work for Kent County Council and high profile London based companies.
