At Douglas Electrical Components we provide solutions for hermetic needs in a number of industries including power generation, automotive, medical, and semiconductor. As a Process Engineer at Douglas I have been a key part of the development of many new products as my role expanded to cover FEA, tooling & pressure chamber design, and team leadership for a number of cross-functional teams.I utilize a strategic approach to engineering that challenges organizational norms when appropriate to explore under-utilized areas of design. This enables me to enhance my company's repertoire of technologies and meet client needs while remaining under budget and on time.As I have progressed my career in engineering I have been noted as a good resource for empowering the growth of my coworkers and team. I believe it is critical to a company's well-being that the knowledge of each member be available and understood by as many as possible, creating new avenues for solutions to arise. As a leader of cross-functional teams I tap into each team member's strengths to reach the best possible outcome for each goal.I have spent a good portion of my career involved in design, process, testing, and quality engineering projects, and I believe this breadth of experience has made me into a better engineer in a multitude of ways. When a chance to pivot from one section of experience to another arises, I am able to leverage my history in various roles to inform and provide answers to the tough situations one sees in an engineering role.Outside of my work experience I am an initiator and leader for my extracurricular activities, bringing together people of all backgrounds that share my hobbies. I am often needed to step up to coordinate and have brought this experience with me into my personal life.
