Created and actively maintain numerous open source projects, including the following highlights:- oxbar: a configurable x11 status bar (think polybar) for openbsd that showcases a number of stats- vitunes: a command line equivalent of iTunes written in C with a curses interface and vi-like interaction.- phpSymon: a PHP application that collects and displays information gathered by the popular symon/symux software. Taught numerous courses, ranging from introductory computer science and C++, data structures and algorithms, to advanced formal methods and formal verification courses. I was also involved heavily in organizing, leading, and teaching our university's annual "Computer Science Summer Camp" for 2 years, where local high school students could enroll and get hands-on experience building everything from simple games, online multiplayer games, analytic software, and more.In the summer of 2008 I was awarded the College of Engineering "Professor of the Quarter" as a graduate student (the first, and so far only, graduate student/non-PhD to receive the honor).

- Developed a framework for eCommerce and community websites, serving 12 major clients including 3 cities and 2 county governments, geared towards promoting small-business development.- Developed and maintained numerous application modules for all client websites, including user profiles, login/authentication, mailing, forums, and our core business applications around posting/selling/exchanging goods and services.- Developed and maintained our core data model in PostgreSQL, as well as ran operations on that database cluster. This DB leveraged a star model, with 30+ raw tables, and leveraged pgsql's features for sharding and materialized views (caches) to seamlessly and cheaply serve all our needs. I was responsible for all ops with this DB. Started a game company with some friends from undergrad at college. I successfully petitioned my university to allow me to do my fourth and final 6-month internship to pursue this. We had a great idea, leveraging GPUs for calcs other than graphics (specifically game physics related calcs...remember how you used to be able to by dedicated 'physics cards'?). This is, of course, common place today and has been for 10+ years.Great idea, great devs, but *horrible* execution on our part. Rather than focusing on developing our core idea and a PoC, we tried creating a whole game. From scratch. And then we said "let's create a game DYNASTY!". Without even a single game (or part of a game) completed yet.We exhausted ourselves and our funds pretty quick, and talks with VCs were strained (as you can imagine).Though a failure, it was fun and a huge learning experience.

- Developed and maintained numerous order-entry applications (both online and client-based) that were responsible for processing between $3 and $5 million in sales per day. This included the applications and logic responsible for core order processing, reviewing, and reporting.- Also developed numerous applications allowing clients to customize complex drive-chain, motor, and drive configurations which they could then translate into an order-able set of products and instructions on how to configure them. This served industries ranging from industrial automation, food service processing, and even medical/lab technologies.- Lead a 2 month long project overseeing 2 other developers to design extensive application usage reporting tools used throughout much of the company's software.
