Mercaris is a price reporting agency specializing in Organic and non-GMO agriculture, providing commodity prices, market insights, and analysis utilized by input companies, grain handlers, financial institutions, and CPG companies.As VP of Product at Mercaris, I led the product, technology, and marketing teams through the entire product development process, from ideation to launch, building out our data platform for the Organic and non-GMO commodities market.I fostered a culture of collaboration and open communication across teams, ensuring our products consistently met market demands and were delivered on time, even in a fast-paced, start-up environment. Alongside my leadership role, I served as an individual contributor, focusing on product strategy, product design, and enhancing user experience while bridging the gap between technology and operations. By collaborating closely with developers and economists, we expanded our offerings, automated recurring price reports, integrated new data sources, and improved data filtering. These initiatives directly contributed to revenue growth, streamlined operations by saving significant time, and enhanced data accuracy, positioning our products for greater market success.One of our key achievements was the development and launch of an industry-first weekly pricing estimate system for organic commodities, seamlessly integrated into our platform and OTC derivative risk management tools via API.These accomplishments culminated in the successful acquisition of Mercaris by Argus Media, marking a significant milestone in our journey and underscoring the impact and value we brought to the industry.
