Several years at Calderpeel based in their Esher studio advanced my position from junior to senior role as Architectural Technologist and Designer and allowed me to explore a new philosophy in Architectural conception. I was often appointed on jobs requiring a certain increased depth of attention to detail and coordination; allowing me to implement my most natural abilities. Whether for complex planning applications requiring a sensitive approach or in the construction stage for remedial detailing, multiple dwelling schemes or individual one-off super-homes, time at Calderpeel often placed me in the deep end but on reflection, propelled me into becoming the reliable, self-motivated and self-sufficient Designer I believe I now am. Skills I had curated in previous positions were developed and with the increased experience in job running and client exposure I was also able to refine a way of thinking towards design services and the architectural journey a client experiences; eventually leading me to my own business’ inception and holistic approach to design I exercise today.

Having held a prominent position as one of two Designers at the growing developer, my time at Lucas Design was spent mostly producing designs from concept, through planning, to construction in a variety of sectors.

This was my first employment after finishing university. Mainly producing building regs. and working drawing packages, I would attend regular site visits to co-ordinate drawings and on-site progress. Projects would typically range from extensions and remodeling to new-builds and work on listed buildings, all in the high-end residential sector.
