My dad, a hard-working trucking company owner and dairy farmer, gave me his values and love for driving trucks.Dad taught that leading with excellence means surrounding yourself with like-valued people who have accomplished the goals you desire to achieve. In other words, success leaves clues. When I was 11, it became clear Dad wanted to instill excellent work ethics and values into me early. So, I washed his trucks until they shined. For no pay. My reward? Knowing my dad’s trucks really stood out in the crowd and made a statement.Age 16 brought a real job with real pay pouring concrete foundations. The construction company’s owner saw my true potential. He took me to a life-changing Zig Ziglar event where I was inspired to take personal responsibility for investing in myself, my knowledge, and my skill set!Several years and career changes later, I followed in my dad’s and my mentor’s footsteps—started my own trucking business, maximized the knowledge they instilled to make it successful, and most of all: Invested in people first, inspiring them to excellence. Building the team at RGM Transport took intentionality, and it is worth it! They consistently prove their value as they genuinely strive for excellence!
