I am now head of a very talented team of VDP & prepress techs. I have a key roll in helping carve out how my company plans its future, from building processes and prepress workflows to helping choose the tech we use in our shop. I look forward to lifting up team to build better ways to do things.

K&H is not your average printing company. We have 3 lines of business, Public Elections, Private Elections and Commercial Print. Both Public Elections (ballot printing and mailing) and Commercial Print are driven through my department. Public Elections are the bulk of our business. We print ballots in the tens of millions. I believe, we printed over 100 million ballot cards in all of 2018 while keeping our commercial clients happy as well.Our election workflows are homegrown. I have been a key player in helping build the workflows that keep everything moving. Ballot printing is very complex. My team and I have created many systems that effectively communicate the status of any job or task at any given point in the process. We use checklists like anyone else would but what really keeps us organized in the onslaught of ballot chaos is the 3 work in progress boards on Trello (Trello.com - kanban boards). The department was in much need of organization and standardization when I first arrived. I created digital checklists to help operators track their work for both static prepress and VDP jobs. Now sharing work is achievable where in the past it was much more difficult.

My talents:I'm a creative and resourceful problem solver with strong team building skills. Always looking for more efficient ways to do the tasks at hand. My current responsibilities and achievements:• Create Print on Demand store fronts using HTML, CSS and JavaScript in FusionPro and PTI's MarcomCentral.• Built ColorGraphics own print on demand store front using FusionPro and PTI's MarcomCentral. I coded the majority of the front end website using Adobe Dreamweaver (HTML and CSS) - http://colorgraphicsdigital.com• Lead for all variable data printing projects.• Use JavaScript to power variable data print jobs in FusionPro and HP SmartStream Designer.• Launched an intranet site as a knowledge base to document custom workflows, a JavaScript library and to manage numerous client specific requirements. This site helps my department quickly find important information and it reduces the amount of individual tribal knowledge. • Implemented tools, using Google Docs, to track and measure reoccurring problems within and between multiple departments. This has been a great success at ColorGraphics. Having seen as much as 20% increases in productivity in some areas.• Create and write procedures for new digital workflows to ensure consistent and repeatable work.• Train/mentor coworkers to use VDP software and workflows.• Technical sales support.• Lead of the ColorGraphics Security Committee where my team overlooks all aspects of security for 2 different plants. From keeping our clients data safe all the to the safety of our entire staff. • Establish HIPAA and HITECH compliance protocols and procedures for 2 different plants with the Security team. • 15+ years experience using Adobe software and other related software for print production.
