Music teacher turned software developer. I have been working as a developer in the insurance industry for the last 2 years. Prior to that I completed Tech Elevator full stack coding bootcamp, learning C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core MVC, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Vue.js framework. My strengths are patience and analytical problem solving, whether I am writing and debugging code, learning an instrument, or sharing knowledge with others. My colleagues would describe me as an open-minded professional with a friendly demeanor and a desire to learn and grow. I believe I can be a positive addition to any development team that values positivity, collaboration, and growth.In my prior professional life, I was a middle school band director. This was a job that brought many unique challenges and surprises on a daily basis. I value the time I spent building relationships with students and colleagues and getting to help kids develop their interests and passions while providing an outlet for expression. When the pandemic drastically changed our day-to-day, I had to review and expand upon some of my technical skills to produce virtual school concerts and teach music ensembles in a fully remote setting. This reconnected me to my love of technology and led me to software development, where I can utilize all of my strengths to create technical solutions to meet business needs and improve the lives of others.
