Silent Warrior Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to its mission of reducing suicide rates in veterans and first responders related to post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) & military sexual trauma (MST). We offer retreats and services at no charge to assist our veterans, first responders, and their families to Mindfully heal the wounds of war. At our retreats we practice mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR- based on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s MBSR in his book “full catastrophe living”), contemplative Silent Reflection (CSR- a practice developed out of Thomas Keating’s contemplative prayer, a spiritual practice which allows us to address Moral Injury directly with a spiritual solution. We also offer other holistic modalities such as Qigong, Tai Chi, Reiki, Equine Therapy, while on a retreat and enjoy fellowship and peer to peer recreational activities like fishing geared towards healing from post traumatic stress disorder and military sexual trauma.
