• I started working with Apache as a summer student, then an intern, before being hired as a Petrophysicist 1. While at Apache, I was promoted 3 times to a Senior Petrophysicist. During this time, I planned, executed.
• Planned/executed formation evaluation programs for the Apache-operated deep-water hydrocarbon discoveries in Block 58 and 53 of the Guyana-Suriname Basin. Included 6 exploratory wells.
• Led petrophysical operations for Baja-1, the first-ever oil discovery in Block 53 offshore Suriname.
• Developed net pay calculations and presented petrophysical evaluations to the state oil company and 3 operating partners during the Suriname project.
• Provided guidance on-site (South America) for tool calibrations prior to logging 2 offshore wells in Suriname.
• Created a petrophysical guidebook for offshore operations that is now in use company-wide.

San Antonio, Texas, United States

• I served as the primary petrophysicist for all unconventional exploratory and delineation wells in U.S. basins executed from the San Antonio office from 2016 to 2019.
• Cut costs by auditing 50+ logging invoices and negotiating service charges.
• Identified and extracted 1,000+ rotary sidewall-cores used to calibrate several field-wide petrophysical models.
• Mentored and co-advised 8 students on the 2017 and 2018 Southern Illinois University AAPG Imperial Barrel teams, 2 of whom are now full-time petroleum geologists with major energy companies.

Midland, Texas, United States

• I performed formation evaluations on 64 wells within the Midland Basin.
• Incorporated probabilistic petrophysical models to predict mineral volumes, porosity, and fluid saturations.
• Created attribute maps and cumulative distributions of hydrocarbons in place, porosity, water saturation, clay volume, and total organic carbon content.

Houston, Texas Area

• I was one of the few students offered a summer internship before starting my master’s degree.
• Developed a spreadsheet repository for geochemical and petrophysical data.
• Computed petrophysical properties of the Vaca Muerta shale, Neuquén Basin, South America.
• Presented results at Petro-Fest, Apache’s annual internal petrophysical conference, before ~15 leaders and peers.

• Contributed well log analysis for the South American Shale Gas and Oil Phase 1 project and final report.
