Infrastructure Architecture. Design and maintain the full spectrum of physical and virtual application server environment for the Department of Information Technology at the State of Nevada. Responsible for all aspects of server infrastructure including; hardware maintenance and upgrades, physical network and storage connectivity, storage provisioning and management, application availability assurance and monitoring, performance data analysis and trending, data availability and backups, host security and user management, configuration and change management, and documentation and reporting.Project Management. Ensure success by directing the Integrated Financial Systems consolidation effort, a three year project to merge the departments of Personnel, Administration, Transportation and Welfare servers to a consolidated IBM P6 environment. The consolidated platform houses the State of Nevada's payroll, budget, time tracking, welfare case management, project accounting, job application system, and open government applications.Storage Management. Storage team leader. Manage all aspects of network storage including physical connectivity, fabric zoning, device mapping and masking, and performance analysis. Design, planning & implementation of disaster recovery project using EMC DMX3 storage with Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF-A).Programming and Automation. Designed and implemented custom Oracle hot and cold backup automation program with EMC BCV / Clone technology. Creation of customized TSM / EMC Symmetrix backup scripts. Created custom LAMP web portal to house server availability statistics, graphical performance utilization, system configuration information, historical change control data, backup logs, and system documentation. Wrote customized storage provisioning tools.Virtualization. Manage IBM PowerVM and VMware Virtual Infrastructure platform for multiple agencies and departments.
