In my role at Ventient Energy my responsibilities were to help drive its digital transformation into the 21st century. Over the years at Ventient Energy I managed to change the business from a traditional ISDN Phone system taking us to VOIP. I provided support to Ventient while moving offices and the business expanding. While this was done, I reviewed our emails systems and identified that we needed an anti-spam service which I installed and managed. An increased pressure put in IT to provide support to all areas of the business the decision was made to outsource 1st and 2nd line support. I managed the 1st and 2nd line support with the IT manager. I would often take lead on ticket review calls and assist in escalated issues and providing coaching to the 3rd party company on IT issues. At Skyscanner I first started out as an IT support apprentice worked my way to Supporting Engineer and then to Engineer. Part of that was due my work in building and deploying offices in Barcelona, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Budapest and Sofia and assisting with launching our Miami office. In building our offices I needed to setup a windows network to support windows, MacBook’s and Linux clients. All the IT stock was ordered by myself, I would then install a virtualization solution VMware’s ESXI 5.1 then deployed AD servers, DHCP and a File server setup all 30 to 60 seat offices. The largest office I deployed was 300 seats that was the Edinburgh office. When I started at Skyscanner I was the 100th employee and I watched the company grow from 100 to 1000+.
