Profile bio

About Ryan Imhoff

I am a research scientist specializing in health economics, market access, and clinical outcomes research. I have over eight years of research experience, with extensive knowledge of US markets, as well as experience in regions across the globe. I have a Master’s Degree in Health Economics and Clinical Outcomes Research (HEOR), which includes training in statistical theory and methodology, economic theory and analytical methods, as well as the fundamentals of domestic and foreign healthcare landscapes and regulatory processes.---My passion and interests lie in building economic simulations and models. These techniques allow me to leverage the results of Clinical Trials and Real World Evidence studies - be it summaries from published manuscripts or using raw data - to assess the economic value that a technology offers. I love answering important questions such as: How do technologies and their downstream benefits impact healthcare expenditures? Do any added costs come with a commensurate level of benefits in terms of patient outcomes? How will changing reimbursement policies affect the budget moving forward?----Evidence Generation Strategies: I enjoy collaborating across teams and functions to determine the hurdles a product is faced with and build a specific evidence generation strategy that will lead to successful commercialization & reimbursement. Economic simulation modelling: I have a great deal of experience and training in Cost-effectiveness, Cost-utility, Budget Impact, and Cost-Minimization analyses. From simple cohort level decision trees and basic Markov models, all the way through patient level Monte-Carlo microsimulations using Markov chains and Discrete Event Simulations (DES) with complicated event tracking and effect modifiers. I am fluent in the use of programs such as TreeAge and Excel with VBA to develop models, while also having experience in SAS, R, MySQL, and CMA. Retrospective Database Analysis: Using large retrospective database analyses, including the use of MarketScan, Premier, MedAssets, CMS LDS/SAF, and HCUP. I have experience both in conceptual design and lead of these projects, as well as data analysis using SAS. Observational Real World Evidence: I have a great deal of experience working on both small and large studies leveraging sources such as EMR data, chart reviews, single or multi-site experience, and data generated and stored on propriety medical devices and programs.

Listed skills include Data Analysis, Clinical Research, Research, Statistics, and 23 others.
