A fast paced agency with a variety of clients my role as an Account Manager sees me getting involved with a range of communications task each day. These tasks include: planning and overseeing PR campaigns, writing case studies and awards entries, blog posts and Diva news stories and evaluation reports; as well as managing client relationships, presenting ideas at creative pitches, supervising the creative direction of content creation and social media management. I take a specialist lead in managing the agency’s video and social media work with tasks ranging from; writing scripts and storyboards, casting, managing filming days through to overseeing the editing process and developing the projects brand identity. I account manage several social and digital marketing and PR projects for high profile clients such as: • The Department for Work and Pensions • Transport for London • Transport for Greater Manchester • CTC’s Big Bike Revival (national charity campaign)

I worked on two campaigns - Pink Fridays and Carols by Candlelight. My time at Breast Cancer Care saw me:Establish and maintain a media landscape for the local area with a list of the relevant journalists to contact at each publication. Always ensuring a good relationship was constantly maintained through high quality communications, digital written and verbal. Manage and organise of a unique publicity stunt. I ran this as a “Clap-mob” using social media, print media and radio to gather members of the public dressed in pink to take part in a one minute applause for everyone ever touched by breast cancer. Produce a broad range of top quality written materials with accuracy. These materials included: campaign plans, news release, internal communications, volunteer newsletters and proposals amongst others. Succeed in gaining partnerships with Doncaster Rovers FC and Lakeside Shopping Village for the whole of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Employed to handle student relations on university open days, it was my responsibility to ensure that potential students and parents where well looked after and that all questions where answered clearly and accurately.

Assigned to customer complaints, it was my duty to provide an incomparable quality of communication and service to customers. To achieve this I ensured that I built and maintained excellent relationships with colleagues so that we could effectively together as a team and ensure the customer finished a call satisfied and with the company reputation intact and where possible, improved.

My time as the CIPR student rep demonstrates my commitment to a career in public relations. My role enabled me to exhibit strong and persuasive verbal skills by creating dynamic presentations for my fellow students to encourage them to join the CIPR.I was also responsible for organising an “Into the Industry” event day, where I was able to use my networking skills in order to get representatives from agencies such as MK and HR Media to deliver workshops and talks.
