Sentient is Japan's first streetside InfraCo. Japan is densely urbanised with a high data-using population but lags on 5G deployments due to difficulties in accessing city sites. In addition, international operators face high 4G and 5G roaming charges. Sentient addresses both these market challenges by leveraging Japan's largest independent street infrastructure estate of 100,000's of sites to act as a neutral host small cells tower company and also a Wi-Fi offload network operator in high footfall areas.Sentient has a very experienced Japanese management team with strong connections in the Japanese and global operator market. It is funded by Pinnacle Towers, the TowerCo investment vehicle of KKR. The team has previously successfully executed tower company and Wi-Fi offload models. The company is headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo.

Edifice generates long-term secure revenues for commercial property owners from outdoor media, EV charging and battery storage incomes then sells these annuity-bearing assets to specialist funds. Edifice has had multiple exits through the sale of 11 portfolios of income-bearing sites with high covenant tenants to 4 alternative asset funds.

Skysites was Brazil’s leading streetside turn-key small cell infrastructure provider for mobile operators in Brazil with over 1,000 live sites. Skysites deployed its own capex on behalf of operators for small cell streetworks on poles and buildings. It also had a portfolio of high value towers. In addition, Skysites also owned a strategically installed public Wi-Fi neutral host hotspot network in high footfall locations such as municipal bus stations. I was co-founder and Chairman of Skysites until its merger with Infratelco in 2015, when I became Board Advisor. Skysites was then acquired by IHS Towers.

Founder and CEO of Macropolitan, the UK's largest owner of exclusive telecoms rights at urban buildings with a portfolio of 18,000 sites. 18 months after closing its seed (and only) funding round, Macropolitan was acquired for £9.5 million by Arqiva (p.23 of http://www.arqiva.com/media/dContent/mediaCentre/About-Us/PDFs/mukbh-signed-08.pdf). Macropolitan rented access to its unique portfolio to operators deploying wireless networks, from 4G to WiMAX. Macropolitan also supported turn-key deployments through its relationships with major vendor partners that included Alcatel-Lucent and Nortel. Macropolitan was equity funded by several multi-billion dollar telecoms and property funds including property magnate Vincent Tchenguiz's Consensus Business Group, Saudi Oger and Miller Buckfire; the world's leading restructuring bank.

Founder and first Chairman of the Fixed-Mobile Convergence Alliance, a global forum for innovative telecom operators that grew from 5 founding operators to represent 850 million subscribers worldwide. The FMCA successfully acted as the 'voice of the customer' for the evolution of convergent services and was instrumental in influencing the major telecoms standards bodies to accomodate these services.The FMCA was incorporated as a not-for-profit trade association under New York law in August 2006.

Responsible for increasing BT's market share by using the BT fixed network to deliver superior mobile services and position BT as a Fixed-Mobile Convergence service provider to its 19 million customers. This responsibility spanned BT Group as I owned the portfolio of Convergence products, from concept creation, through feasibility study, customer needs matching, technology selection, business case, vendor selection and negotiaition (legal and commercial), naming, proposition development, technical delivery, network integration, billing, customer experience and programme management through to launch. This portfolio included BT Fusion - one of the world's most successful telecom product launches, Enterprise FMC and Call Minder Multi.

My role was to ensure the successful handover of Megabeam to its acquirer, Swisscom.

I was CEO and co-founder of the leading pan-European public Wi-Fi operator, Megabeam, that was acquired by Swisscom to form the new division Swisscom Hospitality. I led the most successful aggregator of of long-term exclusive rights over commercial properties in Europe generating telecoms revenue for those property owners and gaining first or second highest market share in 7 European countries by providing access at those sites to mobile operators and ISP's. Megabeam was twice rated in the top 25 of mobile businesses in the world by Unstrung. The Italian subsidiary remained independent, was renamed Linkem, has grown to €160m annual revenue and acquired Tiscali in Italy.
