In conjunction with psychotherapy I provided assessments to assess the clients presenting problems/symptoms and to account for the efficacy of the psycho-social interventions utilized.

I worked as a research assistant for the Laboratory for Cognitive and Affective Science at Assumption College where I assisted Dr. Sarah Cavanagh on a variety of studies on attentional bias for emotion and its implications for psychological functioning, the relationship between mirth and well-being, the nature of risk and resilience in vulnerability for depression, and the effects of nostalgia on emotion regulation.I defended a thesis addressing the impact of nostalgic experiences on the regulation of emotion and co-authored a study on the effects of nostalgia versus ordinary event memory on recovery from a sad mood induction with Sarah Rose Cavanagh, PhD and Erin Fitzgerald, BA, which we presented at the 25th Annual Convention for the Association of Psychological Science in Washington, D.C. I have worked with Excel, Clearview (an analytic program for eyetracking data), SPSS, and E-Prime. I have conducted experimental sessions involving informed consent, implementing protocols, and collecting psychophysiological data (skin conductance, electromyography).
