Product Solutions DirectorFundedyouth Dec 2023 - PresentEl Cajon, California, UsI am one of the founders FundedYouth. My role includes: Keeping the team on focus, developing educational content, building and managing website content, managing meetings and keeping minutes, and confidently supporting the team members. We are currently expanding our public image. I played a key role in expediting the process of taking us to an official 501(c)3 status.Recently, I ran and developed test environments for possible LMS platforms. After multiple comparisons, I decided on not hosting our own content and instead to use tools like YouTube and Udemy going forward which would better integrate into K12 environments. To go along with this decision we are currently in the process of developing classroom fundamental courses for 3D printing which go over hardware, slicing, and printing. This will include Hardware Fundamentals, Slicing with Cura Fundamentals, and Slicing with Bambu Studio Fundamentals. -

Instructional DesignerSelf-Employed Dec 2022 - Dec 2022Measuring a Student’s Ability to Solve Coding Challenges. Onsite in the classroom instructing the kids and helping with challenges. Research Paper: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11ulYPYlbZ0pQDU3t92061e_WpZ8pCKeb/view?usp=sharingThis action research study engaged a 4th-grade classroom of 23 students who were finding it difficult to solve coding challenges in the Code.org Course E instruction. The research study instructional unit reintroduced the same coding topics in Course E by teaching students how to create a visual novel/interactive story. The instructional unit designed for the research study included four lessons, each with a pre-test, instructional lesson, post-test, and end-of-lesson timed coding challenge. The research tested how the difference between the pre-and post-test scores affected the student’s ability to solve each end-of-lesson timed coding challenge. The first three lessons in the visual novel instruction taught the students the coding fundamentals needed to create a visual novel in Sprite Lab. Lesson four engaged the students by having them design and create a visual novel in a two-person team. The quantitative, measurable data focused on the pre-and post-test score difference and the student’s ability to complete the timed challenge. The data analyzed each student by lesson, the average for each lesson, and the overall average for all lessons. The overall measurement presented a (Score Difference) of [2] and a completed challenge (On-Time) of [True], resulting in a positive, measurable effect. In conclusion, the positive, measurable data proves that the visual novel instructional unit on coding strengthened the student’s coding ability, storytelling, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
