Under direction of the Superintendent, the Chief Communication and Public Engagement Officer supports the educational programs of the District by serving as the principal advisor providing comprehensive and proactive communications, strategies, and planning, media relations, and news analysis to the Superintendent, Board of Trustees, and Leadership team. The Chief Communications Officer serves as an executive member of the Superintendent’s cabinet and as the District spokesperson providing leadership and assuming management responsibility with the planning, development, organization, and implementation of strategies and activities to effectively communicate with staff, parents, and diverse community stakeholders to maximize community and stakeholder support and engagement.

The Chief Relationship Officer (CRO) is co-owner of all Rescue Mission relationships. The CRO is responsible for protecting, maintaining, and strengthening existing relationships and the development of new and beneficial relationships for the Rescue Mission staff, volunteers, providers, donors and clientele. The CRO provides strategic support to the President.

Build and strengthen relationships with county, state and federal government leaders and their staff as well as the many diverse community groups and non-profits throughout Orange County. Serve as the Sheriff’s primary representative on operational and budgetary issues over which the Board of Supervisors has oversight. Effectively communicate on sensitive and confidential issues. Develop strategic recommendations and cultivate a process for acquiring stakeholder support in public policy development and project delivery on behalf of the Sheriff.Represent the Sheriff and the Department throughout the county, providing briefings on Department activities and identifying opportunities to collaborate with diverse groups and non-profit organizations to ensure we are protecting and serving all of Orange County. Serve as the Sheriff’s primary liaison to the Sheriff's Community Advisory Groups including the Latino, Iranian, and African American Community Advisory Committees.Coordinate and prepare informational material and presentations for meetings with Sheriff's Executive staff and elected officials to provide briefings on key projects, programs and high-profile issues. Write newsletter, blog articles, video scripts and executive communication and correspondence, and develop and produce video for social media platforms for our internal and external clients. Serve as a Department spokesperson, along with most duties carried over from my role as Assistant to the Sheriff.Provide direction on the development and implementation of strategic priorities such as the Sheriff’s Department’s Leadership Initiative, including the Leadership Development Program with Brandman/Chapman University and the Mentoring Program.

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Sheriff’s office. Serve as the primary liaison between the Sheriff and other elected officials with various county departments, agencies, authorities and jurisdictions. Maintain effective working relationships inside and outside of the organization and acquire information essential to the Sheriff for decision making. Provide high-level analysis and recommendations on major policy issues and recommend positions to the Sheriff. Represent the Sheriff’s position and engage in discussions involving multiple stakeholders with differing interests on policy areas and coordinate and manage media responses, when necessary, from the Sheriff’s office.

Managed executive communication for internal and external clients, including speeches, editorials, and congressional testimony.

Managing the writing team, responsible for overseeing key messages and communication for Guest responses for the Disneyland Resort; ensuring a clear, concise and consistent message. Prioritize workflow and turnaround time, maintaining consistent goals. Support company executives as a “ghost writer” and project assistant. Assist in writing, editing and interviewing for the weekly employee newsletter, “The Disneyland Resort Line.Produce, coordinate and approve written responses for letters, email and information inquiries. Create written communication regarding policy changes affecting employees and customers of the Disneyland Resort.Assist General Managers and Hotel staff at the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel with customer service, both over the phone and through written correspondence.
