With a keen interest in Engineering I started studying Mechanical Engineering in ATU Sligo. I then progressed and specialized in Precision Engineering & Design. My currently role is NPD Design Engineer specializing in new product development for crushing and screening for Astec/Telestack Omagh. Prior to this role I was working for Astec/Telestack as an Outsource Co-ordinator. After many years of working within Design & Project management in previous roles, I wanted to progress into the Production Support side of engineering. This is where my previous role within Astec as Outsource Coordinator played a vital part in understanding the daily running tasks of a large OEM. This role consisted of coordinating outsource fabricated assemblies, Outsourced painting, Outsourced Assembling and so on. In this role I ensure outsourced items are completed in line with our production schedules. Telestack is based in Northern Ireland in there state of the art manufacturing facility and specialize in bulk material handling systems, Everything from stacker conveyors right up to to ship loaders. In this role I also managed one of our sister sites where Telestack undertake a lot of fabrication for there standard range of conveyors. This allowed me to be involved with Production Support in a higher level and allowed me to gain valuable management experience. I have previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer implementing Lean methodology in a multi national company Combilift. Combilift specialize in forklift manufacturing and supply material handling solutions worldwide. The main areas of engineering which interest me most is Design, Project Management, Applications & Technical, Lean Management & Continues Improvement. Along with this I have a keen interest in Entrepreneurship. I set up my own small company 8 years ago to finance college fees but has since grew and had allowed me to experience managing customers. dealing with finances of a company and many other vital experiences that help me in my career today. With these experiences behind me I always have a drive to keep progressing in my career and move up the ranks.
