I am a student who looks to grow, develop, and learn alongside people within the sport industry. I aim for success by doing everything to the best of my ability with a strong work ethic. My goal is to help those I work for succeed through task completion and attentive work habits, all while being part of a meaningful work community. I am studying the Sport Management field aiming to learn about various industry segments in the hopes of working in a unique environment. My intention is to learn and grow in the sport industry by soaking up the knowledge and experiences of those already in the industry. Customer service is a vital facet to sport, no matter if it relates to the business side or the on-field product, either way we are always servicing those around us. For almost two years, I have been improving my customer service skills. First, as a Lot Associate and now as a Lumber & Building Materials Associate with The Home Depot. Beyond helping customers find products, I assist them with project plans by sharing product knowledge, customizing lumber to specific sizes, and order creation. I work as part of a team that shares a common goal of providing quality service while maintaining the department to excellent standards. WIth an interest in operations, event management, customer service, marketing, and event planning, I am willing to work in any sport capacity that allows me to contribute to overall success. Studying Sport Management through Humber College has opened my mind to the endless possibilities of working in sport. So far, I have gained knowledge and heard from a variety of experienced individuals in the industry. However, I feel that I’ve only scratched the surface. This is just the beginning to my sport career, but it was definitely the place to start. As for refining my customer service, helping people improve their homes positively impacts how they enjoy the place they live in. Nothing feels better than being in comfortable home, which is why those at The Home Depot work to serve customers as best as possible. Nothing feels better than having a positive interaction with a pleased customer or seeing work get done. Knowing what that feeling is like, I hope to experience exactly that while working in the sport industry. I am open to any internship and volunteer opportunities in the sport field and look forward to the future ahead.
