Helped build Canvas from just an idea in a one-room office to the world's most popular learning management system and eventually a publicly traded company. In the early days, I'd take whole chunks of the app from the frontend to the back and play engineer/designer/product manager roles all at the same time. Later, once we had teams of hundreds of engineers, I started focusing more on technical leadership of feature teams and personally focused on the architecture and comprehensive front to back performance of the site.To this day, I love going to parent teacher conferences or watching my kids do homework and seeing them use stuff I built!

Took a year off from Instructure to build Spacemonkey's web interface. Think dropbox.com but the backend is a completely p2p distributed file storage network and the web client uses webRTC to fetch Reed-Solomon encrypted data chunks directly from a network of devices and stitch it all up and decrypt it right in the browser

Allmoxy enables small and medium sized businesses to run their entire business in the cloud. It allows companies to sell complex, customizable products online and then integrates the incoming sales to a complete backend including: inventory, employee, task & job management, CRM, accounting (AP), estimating, and reporting.As the Technical co-founder I was in charge of building the product. As you do in a startup I wore many hats: I oversaw the architecture and development of the platform, writing a ton of code myself but also managed the rest of the engineering team. Also, lead customer development and UX, working with customers to design products with a focus on making complex interactions simple, usable, and easy.
