Continuing the Software Development Specialist role but now also responsible for setting out the general direction of development for the team.

As part of the Business Applications & Integration team, I’m responsible for gathering user requirements and the subsequent design, development and delivery of applications to aid departments in their day-to-day operations. I facilitate the extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) of information from one business system to another: providing efficient and consistent movement of data between systems using SQL database connections and third-party web services. This is achieved through the development of bespoke ASP.NET (C#) console applications and PowerShell scripting.Recent integration projects have involved the retrieval and storage of paged Management Activity data from Office 365, the extraction of student attendance records from SEAtS, and the synchronisation of user information between our data warehouse and Microsoft Dynamics to assist in COVID case management.I’ve also developed numerous MVC and Web Form based applications, including a membership management solution for the on-campus Sports Centre, a helpdesk with self-service ticket submissions for the Estates department, and a facility to manage the request and release of parking permits to staff and students across the three campuses.I’ve continued to support the organisations’ instances of SharePoint (2010, 2013 and SharePoint Online) and to provide staff with training.
