Arnold Palmer once said, “The road to success is always under construction.” This is a quote that I have taken very seriously throughout my college and professional career. I always am learning from the past to better myself moving forward. I was taught at a young age that hard work and passion in everything you do will lead to success. I also learned that failure is often the best teacher. I took all these lessons with me to Penn State and into my professional career. I knew when I went to college I wanted to study something that would allow me to be outside and on my feet for the majority of the day. I knew Turfgrass Science was the right major for me when I came on my first visit to Penn State and I got to see the facilities I would be working with for the next four years. Through Penn State, I have completed 3 internships at some of the best courses in the world and had countless opportunities to attend guest lectures of some industry professionals. Additionally, I have also been a part of the largest student-run philanthropy, THON, for the last four years as an executive board member of Apollo. I was the alternative fundraising chair my junior year and member relations chair my senior year. Both of these positions gave me valuable experiences in coordinating large-scale fundraising efforts and recruiting and retaining new members.I enjoy problem-solving and working with small groups on projects. However, some of my best work is done when I work alone. Some of my previous coworkers would describe me as passionate, responsible, and hardworking. I plan on either becoming an irrigation system consultant or the director of grounds at a top 100 golf club in the future but for now, I am looking to gain as much experience working with golf renovations and the day-to-day maintenance practices of golf courses.Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have.
