I am an Assistant Professor in Human Development and Family Sciences at Texas Tech University where I lead the Stress, Aging, and Relationships (STAR) laboratory. My research focuses on the role of stress-response processes in healthy aging. I have 9+ years of psychoneuroimmunology research experience with strong quantitative skills and a focus on science communication.I have published 20+ peer-reviewed papers on topics including stress reactivity, close relationships and health, emotion regulation, and psychological effects on illness experience. I created Ryan's Science (a YouTube Channel) in 2020 where I discuss the process, results, and practical implications of studies from my lab and beyond. I am excited to be the new Digital Editor for Psychosomatic Medicine, the journal of the Society for Biopsychosocial Science and Medicine.
