About Ryan Linn Brown

I am an Assistant Professor in Human Development and Family Sciences at Texas Tech University where I lead the Stress, Aging, and Relationships (STAR) laboratory. My research focuses on the role of stress-response processes in healthy aging. I have 9+ years of psychoneuroimmunology research experience with strong quantitative skills and a focus on science communication.I have published 20+ peer-reviewed papers on topics including stress reactivity, close relationships and health, emotion regulation, and psychological effects on illness experience. I created Ryan's Science (a YouTube Channel) in 2020 where I discuss the process, results, and practical implications of studies from my lab and beyond. I am excited to be the new Digital Editor for Psychosomatic Medicine, the journal of the Society for Biopsychosocial Science and Medicine. In August of 2024, I launched new podcast as Director of Scientific Communications for the Stress Measurement Network called "The Stress Puzzle" to pass current knowledge and the historical context of stress research to others in the field, particularly early-career researchers, to promote the highest quality stress research.Listen to the Stress Puzzle: https://www.ryanlinnbrown.com/stresspuzzle
