• Developed the first DNA microarray for use with the protozoan parasite Entamoeba histolytica.
• Analyzed complex data set containing thousands of genes and identified important differences between virulent and nonvirulent strains and species of Entamoeba.
• Successfully down regulated expression of a putative virulence determinant and showed a role for the protein in cytotoxicity and adhesion.
