Marketing Manager
CurrentIn 2008 I created and developed Love-Rugs as a response to the downturn in the global economy. Love-Rugs was created in order to diversify the product offering at Little-Persia. Little-Persia is a specialist dealer in handmade Persian and Oriental rugs, which is a limited market, and due to that specialism I did not want to add more mainstream (machine-made and hand-tufted rugs) goods to the product line as it would dilute Little-Persia's specialist brand perception. As a result, Love-Rugs was born as a separate brand allowing modern and traditional rugs to be sold without harming the reputation of Little-Persia.Since inception, Love-Rugs has grown year-on-year with an ever expanding product offering. In 2010, utilising contacts gained through the company's handmade carpet heritage, I developed a custom rug service allowing customers to have rugs created to their own design, colours, size, shape and choice of fabric. The custom rug service now accounts for a significant segment of Love-Rugs' turnover. I am responsible for all marketing and much of the day-to-day running of Love-Rugs and created the front-end of the company website. Love-Rugs now ranks first on Google for terms such as "Rugs Scotland", "Rugs Glasgow" and "Rugs Edinburgh" and in the top three in UK-wide searches for "Custom Rugs" as a result of my efforts in SEO and web design, all based on a minimal budget.
