Mayfield Renewables was founded in 2007 by Ryan Mayfield, an engineer by training and a full-fledged renewable energy champion by choice. Ryan has amassed more than two decades of technical expertise in the solar and energy storage sectors, where he’s done everything from boots-on-the-roof labor to literally writing the book on system design and installation. His career has blended technical expertise with an affinity for writing and education. Ryan was also the PV systems technical editor for SolarPro magazine from 2010 to 2018, where he regularly wrote feature articles, and was a regular contributor to Home Power magazine. Ryan holds a degree in environmental resources engineering and is a Limited Renewable Energy Technician (LRT) license holder in Oregon. He has been teaching the full-day NEC for PV systems code course since the inception of the continuing education NABCEP conference.

I spend most of my time focusing on providing accessible expertise where it is needed most. I enjoy developing training on codes and standards or best practices to help demystify complex topics that can sometimes be open to interpretation. I also work alongside our product consulting team to support manufacturers with their go-to-market strategy connecting their product to the end users, connecting engineering to the market that needs their product at the end of the day.
