After completing my full-time volunteer work for my church, I returned to the YMCA as a summer job until I left for college again. During these few months, I resumed all previous responsibilities mentioned in my other "Cross-Trained Staff" experience posting.

I returned to the YMCA after finishing my first year at college and worked here until I left to do volunteer work for my church. I was cross-trained to work in every position in the youth department.- Ran rock wall as previously described- Ran STEM day camps as previously described- Wrote curriculum for current and future youth day camps- Worked in the daycare facility - Built relationships with children, parents/guardians, and staff to provide good experiences for everyone - Engaged with children on an individual basis while maintaining control of the entire room, which sometimes contained upwards of 40 children ages 6 weeks - 6 years - Reported to parents/guardians if anything of interest happened while they were gone - Enforced firm limits in accordance with YMCA policies, but with positive phrasing- Worked in the Youth Activity Center, assisting children ages 6 years and older, providing games and someone to play with when necessary- Additional projects on the side. My manager referred to me as her "right hand man" and I followed her instructions to ensure the youth department operations ran smoothly

In addition to my responsibilities at the rock wall, I trained to be a counselor for the STEM day camps the YMCA put on for kids during the summer. Ages ranged from 4 years old to 12 years old.- Cared for and managed children of diverse ages and backgrounds- Provided an enjoyable experience for all youth, regardless of prior familiarity of STEM principles- Maintained positive relations with youth, parents/guardians, and other staff members- Creatively managed time to handle unforeseen delays/challenges
