Ryan has over 15 years of experience in public accounting at RSM, serving both public and private clients in the middle market; specifically in the areas of industrials manufacturing and consumer products, as well as professional service and healthcare industries. He has significant experience with SEC reporting requirements as well as internal control testing required under SOX 404. Ryan has experience auditing complex transactions including business combinations, stock compensation arrangements, and consolidations. In his external client server role, Ryan manages engagement teams and coordinates the audit process from start to finish, including: • Designing audit procedures in complex areas utilizing the firm’s risk-based audit approach• Proactively communicating with clients and anticipating and identifying client challenges and concerns• Coordinating and communicating engagement deliverables directly with clients• Managing multiple teams of supervisors, seniors and associates, including preparation of engagement budgets and detailed evaluations• Evaluating the adequacy of management's implementation of new accounting standards, including assisting clients in identifying and evaluating alternatives•Engaging as a career adviser to senior level staffHe previously served as RSM's Industrial Audit Policy Leader. Ryan was responsible for industry-related assurance matters including, including:•Driving the process to initiate, develop, support and maintain the Firm’s industrials industry guidance and tools with timely delivery to the field for implementation•Overseeing and participate in the development and delivery of industrials courses including training for auditors at the staff through partner levels•Consulting with partners and engagement teams as requested on complex services-related audit and accounting related matters•Conducting industry webcasts for clients and prospects as needed, including development and delivery•Monitoring and providing counsel regarding emerging industry-related audit and accounting issues and prepare appropriate communications, tools and guidance on the subject matter for publication in Insights, Investment Industry Insights or other forms of delivery (internal and external).
