Worked on two key pillars underneath the Enterprise One Platform (E1P) program. I am leading a team that is building an orchestration engine to help power the next generation ratings platform. It’s a micro-service based configurable workflow-engine that is built on containers and deployed on kubernetes. I also work on the E1P Data team to design and build the Enterprise Data Distribution Service (EDDS). The EDDS is a configuration-driven streaming system that classifies data and separates it by entity. It then provides an api tier that allows entities to securely access only their data. It’s built on kubernetes (EKS) to auto-scale as needed.

Designed and contributed to a high-performance classification pipeline that uses machine learning, analytics, and NLP to understand and analyze social media conversation. The system had many incarnations but now runs on Kubernetes and auto-scales to meet demand. At its peek the system performs over 25,000 calculations on an individual verbatim in under 200 milliseconds. Designed a user profiling system for 600 million plus users that gathered interests derived from conversation. It uses BigTable to aggregate and build a oriole in real-time. From there the profiles were queued into Kafka and distributed to BigQuery for warehousing and Elasticsearch. The search system allowed for real time aggregation, slicing and dicing.

As a Senior Java developer on the Hotel Core team I implemented business rules and refactored components in a large service-oriented code base. Technology: Java, Hibernate, Spring, ant, gradle, Tomcat, Oracle, HSQL, Accurev (stream based SCM)

• Performance tested next generation service layer achieving a 40% improvement in throughput.• Analyzed web logs and found and fixed critical issues that caused the applications to crash several times a day. • Designed and developed new API calls for restful web services.• Developed Facebook applications to advertise for big box retailers and fortune 500 companies.

Project – True Conversion Engine (TCE)• Designed and built a email management and transmission platform• It uses demographics, campaign history, member activity and yield ranked campaigns to find the best possible campaign for member.• Over 1 billion pieces of information are evaluated and analyzed by the engine daily to send 50+ million messages • Performed performance analysis and profiling to determine and fix bottlenecks Project – Email tranmission system (TACTILE)• Lead design, implementation, development, and requiremnents gathering• Assembles emails and interfaces with an MTA to send 50+ million messages a day. • Queue based tracking system to collect open, click and conversion information for all mailings.Project – Multi-threaded extension• Designed and built multi threaded email injection system • It finds the best fit for an email campaign accounting for schedule time, MTA capacity, and the amount of available memory on the machine to assemble a campaign.Project – Acquisition and integration• Lead architect in charge of integration of a recent acquisition onto the Q Interactive lead generation platform. • The acquisition was of a company that displayus ads similar to the Q’s core business. • Replaced ads on their site via a SOAP webservice.Lead local and remote teams in collaborative design and development process Project – Social Media / Currency Project• Lead the design of a project to bring ads into social application sites like Facebook.• The application incentivized users to take ads via the trading and purchasing of virtual currency.• Lead and currency information was develivered to social partners in real time.

• Designed and built ccrd.info for cook country. It is a Struts based Internet commerce application selling public documents.• Primary architect for converting a Power Builder based application into a web-based J2EE case management intranet application. It is a student loan collection system for the state of Texas.• Team lead / architect on a project that successfully won a bid to port the collections system for the IRS. (Project postponed) • Designed an efficient J2EE architecture from an using best practices existing code base. Developed key components such as JDBC database access code.• Wrote technical portion of the project approach document that was delivered to the client.
