As a Network Engineer at Tushaus Computer Services (later acquired by Dedicated Computing), I provided technical support and expertise at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In this role, I served as a Microsoft Windows System Administrator, managing and maintaining Active Directory, Exchange, DNS/DHCP, HP Data Protector, Citrix, and VMware.I implemented Windows Server Update Services for enterprise-wide patch management, actively patching over 3,000 Windows-based systems each month. I also served as the Enterprise Backup Administrator, responsible for backing up over 30 TB of storage weekly, including Windows, Solaris, and Linux systems using Backup Exec and later HP Data Protector.I played an instrumental role in the roll-out of VMware ESX, virtualizing the environment to save on power, cooling, and physical data center space. Additionally, I was part of a security services initiative, migrating user and departmental domains, email, and file shares from department servers to clustered Microsoft Windows servers, attaching them to an HP EVA Storage Area Network on a new secure domain.
