Aspect Day Service a day service run by SOS Kilkenny that supports adults with disabilities predominantly focusing on individuals on the Autism Spectrum. I work as a support worker providing daily support to attendees that can often display challenging behaviours.• Supporting individuals with special needs and often challenging behaviours • Supporting the Day attendees to access the community safely and utilise various public services• Advocating for the individuals within the service• Maintaining files, Key working sessions, daily reporting• Working effectively as part of a team to deliver effective services• Liaising with families of individuals being supported.• Communicating with various members of a multi-disciplinary team• Ensuring 8 themes of new directions framework were being upheld

Camphill is an organisation that provides residential and day services across Ireland. I worked in Camphill based in Callan Kilkenny as a Keyworker for an individual with challenging needs.• Supporting individuals with special needs and often challenging behaviours.• Supporting residents to be involved in meaningful community activity.• Advocating for individuals that need it.• As keyworker for an individual, organising all appointments and health treatment.• Supporting a small team of staff to support the individual.• Supervising other members of staff and meeting regularly to discuss job performance.• Managing all finances for the individual and some areas of the wider Camphill community.• Formed a Microsoft SharePoint file storage system for the entire Camphill community Callan.• Took on responsibility within Camphill Callan to maintain IT services in the community.• Created and formulated various Excel spreadsheets and templates for the community.• Having an overview over the team I support and the client’s needs as a whole.• Communication with various professionals involved in the client’s life

-Providing a high level of customer service over the phone.-Taking customer details in line with data protection laws, using these details to input information into a computer system.-Understanding and using computer commands and radio system in order to supervise efficient running of the private hire service.-Working as part of a small but efficient team in both a team member and a team leader capacity.-Dealing with customer complaints directly and finding quick and effective ways to deal with the complaint to keep customers happy.-Overseeing and working with up to 300 drivers via radio and a complex computer system.

My responsibilities included but where not limited to:-Providing 24 hour care for children with very unique disabilities and specific needs.-Working with different people from varying cultures and backgrounds from all over the world as a successful and professional team.-Working efficiently independantly and as part of a team of 5 to provide the best possible care and overcome many challenging and unique situations.-Thinking of innovative and exciting ways to encourage young children with disabilities to engage with educational and fun activities that promote learning and independance.
