Code used to determine and plot pore areas of various diatoms to correlate pore size with diatom size. -Developed micro-postal arrays to facilitate cell adhesion, determining forces exerted on neighboring cells and their environment.

    National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates program:-Selected representative of Boston University.-Continued research into the diatom monolayer self assembly and titanium dioxide deposition.-Prototyping titanium dioxide enhanced dye-sensitized solar cells.Deposition:-Cyclical chemical process incorporating solutions of protamine salt and organic titanium, forming layers of unannealed titanium.-Calcination of diatom samples to anneal titanium dioxide layers, coating the diatom.-Titanium dioxide coatings integrated to improve light absorption within prototype solar cells.Solar Cell Fabrication:-Titanium dioxide pastes created from cyclical process as well as marketed particle.-Pastes compared and analyzed using Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-Ray Diffraction.-Samples containing cyclically generated pastes enhanced solar cell efficiency and energy output.
