Howdy,I came to Texas A&M University in August 2021 for a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. I initially joined with the desire to assist in pharmaceutical R&D. Since that time, I have grown to love sustainable energy (e.g. biofuel from "waste"). My goal is to continue finding innovative ways to provide alternative and greener fuel and energy sources to the public.In January 2023 I joined the Thomas Research Group at Texas A&M. The group focuses on new method chemistry and has grown exponentially during my time in it. My original project was assisting a graduate student in stereoselective Wittig rearrangements in the presence of lithium counter ions. I also started a minor project in the group to investigate the possibility of creating photodegradable polymers for use in medical industries.In December 2023, I began working at Southwest Research Institute as a student engineer in the fuels and energy section. I primarily worked with pyrolytic and gasification operations to turn recyclable and waste streams into drop-in renewable biodiesel. This kickstarted my interest in alternative energy sources. I continue to work at The Institute during winter and summer terms as a student engineer. I currently plan to pursue my PhD in Chemical Engineering.Outside of education and work, I am an avid SCUBA diver and violist in the Texas A&M Philharmonic Orchestra.
