I have a variety of responsibilities as a senior member of the Design and Engineering department. My work includes anything from simple sheet metal design to functional design of marine shafting, powering, and exhaust arrangements. I do a lot of work with preliminary design concepts and I'm also very involved in asset tracking and coordinating inventory movement to and from third party partners.Major Projects1) US Navy SUPSALV 30’ Boom Oil Recovery Vessel (36 months)Design Lead- Responsible for providing drawings/technical support for vessel production.- Redesign and implementation of structural changes based on customer modifications to contractrequirements.- Updated vessel lifting arrangement based on an increased safety factor requirement.- Work closely with Production Supervisors and Project Managers to lead continuous improvementinitiatives to achieve greater production efficiencies.2) US Coast Guard – 36’ Long Range Interceptor MkII (36 months)Design Lead- Preliminary design and drawings for bid proposal that led to contract award.- Responsible for providing drawings/technical support for vessel production.- In depth analysis of lifting requirements and development of lifting arrangement and structure.- Maintaining vessel geometry files, coordinating cutting schedule, and configuration management.- Coordinated 300+ sheet “Preliminary As-Built” drawing submission with multiple team members.3) General Bid Proposals (48 months)Multiple drawings with various levels of complexity for bid submissions- Create drawings/arrangements for different bid proposals based on technicalrequirements/specifications.- Preliminary design work with a focus on a thorough understanding of technical requirements and overall compliance.

I worked on a preliminary prototype for a machine system to help streamline and increase efficiency of their current dental burr magazine loading systems. This involved some modeling, outsourcing of mechanical components, and integrating all of the components into a working prototype.

I was a chemical controller for 1.5 summers at Invista. This involved hooking up and monitoring rail cars as they emptied their contents into a collection system. For half a summer I worked in the Engineering and Materials department doing P&ID data entry based on engineering reports/recommendations.
