Atlas Trigger Project management team and CERN Project Associate, leading international team of core software developers.Coordination of core software development, future planning and operations across all sub-domains: python job configuration and SQL database, rapid diagnostics and assessment, core data-flow and algorithm scheduling, analysis tools, and data model.Managed multiple development projects, delegated critical software bugs, and provided debugged critical data-taking issues.
Developed fast and robust C++ feature extraction, decision engine, rapid diagnostics and assessment algorithms, and Python software for algorithm configuration and control flow to process up to 30 kHz of input rate for a recording rate of ~ 250 Hz.DevOps for all aspects of the software system through five major software releases over a five year period.Reduced processing time by 50% (4000 physical computing cores) and increased efficiency above 90% with machine learning.

Coordinated research and development, planning and operations of the electron / photon Atlas High Level Trigger sub-system with an international team of researchers, professors and students.Commissioned feature extraction and decision engine, delivering critical data assets to the collaboration with high efficiency and data quality, covering a broad range of physics channels.Designed, developed and supervised multiple software and data analysis projects.
Valparaiso, Chile
Research Faculty in Experimental Particle Physics and collaborator on the ATLAS experiment at CERN. FONDECYT program Principle Investigator and program coordinator for EPLANET Marie Curie European Union grant program. My research focused on machine learning model development from front-end applications to full scale production for real time analysis of LHC data.I coordinated all development, planning and operations of the electron and photon Atlas High Level Trigger system for 2015 and 2016 year of data-taking of the ATLAS experiment. Commissioned the feature extraction and decision engine after a two-year shutdown period, using several multivariate techniques to increase efficiency and performance of selection software. Designed / coordinated the commissioning procedure, developed / deployed offline monitoring software for RDA, and published the early performance.I also performed the role of production software developer for integration and deployment of front-end model applications for event classification using multivariate machine learning methods (neural networks, decision trees, and likelihood ratios). I developed fast and robust C++ feature extraction and decision engine algorithms and python software for algorithm configuration and control flow. Optimised efficiency and overall latency of 40 K core computing farm by leveraging machine learning techniques for real-time data analysis for usage reduction of 4000 cores.
Valparaiso, Chile
Researcher at CCTVAL, Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria and particle physicist on the Atlas experiment at CERN. Performed data analysis of Heavy Ion collisions at the LHC and developed models to measure suppression of J/psi production in cold nuclear medium. In addition, I began the role of production software developer for integration and deployment of front-end model applications for event classification using multivariate machine learning methods (neural networks, decision trees, and likelihood ratios). Developed fast and robust C++ feature extraction and decision engine algorithms and python software for algorithm configuration and control flow.
