I spent 9 months working for Ace Express, this was a position in which I started through work placemet, which was complusory for my course. I was working here until May for work placement & I was offered an additional contract until college resumed in September. I really enjoyed my time working in Ace Express & I learned alot throughout my time here, in particular, developing my IT skills through using systems such as Sterling & CRM. I was working as a Junior Sales Executive in the sales department, as well as spending days in with the operations team.My responsibilities included; managing and interacting with various customers and accounts on a daily basis, bring new business in for the company, update customer profiles on CRM accordingly after each interaction with the customer, work in a team as well as individually in meeting deadlines and set targets.Again, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience working for Ace Express as it helped me broaden my IT skillset, and improve my speed on a computer as I was using one on a daily basis. Working in a busy environment like freight also thought me how to remain calm under pressure - something which I believe is vital for any individual. Pressure is guaranteed in work, but it is how one deals with pressure that can seperate them from the crowd.

I spent 3 years working part-time in Dunnes Stores in which I really enjoyed. My main responsibilities during my time here were tills, this role involved dealing with customers on a personal level & ensuring they left the store fully satisfied. Ensure stock levels were closely monitored on the shop floor in my department (menswear), & if they began to fall, I would have to re-order these products promptly. I have great interpersonal skills, working with people is something I do well & I have no problem confronting and helping others.I really enjoyed my time working for Dunnes Stores, it enabled me to develop both as an individual & as a professional in a fast moving environment. I would hugely recommend retail work for any young individual starting off a career in business as retail will truely show you how you should treat customers as well as help you develop the importance of good customer service within business.
