At the age of 18 years old, I began my career in healthcare as a Housekeeper/Laundry Attendant at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.At the age of 19 years old, I decided it was time for a change and decided to become a CNA. In August of 2018, I began the Certified Nursing Assistant Program at Kaskaskia College-Vandalia CampusIn October of 2018, I began Clinicals where I learned how to perform the regular duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant at Fayette County Hospital and Long Term Care. I finished these clinical's in November of 2018 and interviewed there on the last day of clinical's.On December 3rd, 2018 at 2 p.m I clocked in at Fayette County Hospital and Long Term Care for the first time as CNA and Clocked out for the last time there on February 27th, 2019 at 10 P.M so I could begin my new job at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham Illinois.In July of 2019, I enrolled in the Medical Assisting Program at Independence University with an expected graduation date in March of 2021. Upon completion of my associate's degree with this program, I will begin working towards my bachelor's degree in healthcare management, with the intention of obtaining my master's degree in healthcare management.
