Ryan Farrell is Executive Vice President at Edelman, the global communications firm. He advises executives at Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, government departments, and international NGOs on reputation management, enterprise branding and multi-stakeholder communications. His recent clients include the United Nations, University of Michigan, RTX (Raytheon), Brown Brothers Harriman, CACI, Nutrien, U.S. Dairy and Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. He was recognized as a 2024 Emerging Leader by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, serves as a pro bono advisor to the Chicago Mayor's Office of People with Disabilities, and is a Board Member at Opportunity Knocks, a community nonprofit for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Prior to joining Edelman, he served as Chief of Staff to noted economist Professor Mariana Mazzucato at University College London's Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose. There, he managed key external engagements with Heads of State (e.g., Finland, South Africa), NGOs (e.g., UN, Vatican, WHO, World Economic Forum), press (e.g., NYT, CNN, FT) and events (e.g., Davos, Aspen Ideas). During the Covid pandemic, he partnered with the Director-General's Office at the World Health Organization to launch the WHO Council on the Economics of Health for All. He began his career working at global advertising agencies, Leo Burnett, Y&R and FCB, where he managed high-level client relationships with Discover, Coca-Cola, Kellogg's and Wrigley, and executed campaigns honored at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. He holds an MBA from the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School and a BA in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
