Appointed VP, Controller in July 2019Joined Dover in August 2017 as Assistant Controller responsible for the corporate accounting & consolidations, segment operations (including internal controls) and financial systems groups. Served as finance lead for $1 billion spin-off of Dover's upstream energy business. Collaborated extensively and effectively with treasury, tax, legal and human resources to address issues identified, coached and mentored staff on carve-out accounting practices and technical accounting matters, delivered weekly status reports to Dover senior executives and effectively worked with external auditors to complete the carve-out audit on time, enabling the successful May 2018 spin-off. I've also focused on improving quality, efficiency and the overall workplace experience at Dover. Off-shored selected back-office accounting tasks, initiated review programs to provide comfort beyond SOX 404, implemented robotic process automation (RPA) and a new AP system with optical character recognition (OCR) technology and automated workflow approvals, and revised close policies and practices to create capacity to better handle time-sensitive matters.Prior to my transition to industry, I was a PwC partner with nearly 20 years of public accounting experience focused on midsize and large public and private companies in the industrial products and technology industries. I accumulated deep technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge on many subjects, including acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, deferred tax realizability assessments, impairments, and internal controls. I’m passionate about developing people and driving a continuous improvement mindset. I take pride in and am invigorated by working in multi-national environments and support diversity and inclusion engagement. Living and working in Tokyo, Japan and four different U.S. cities, I developed a high-level of cultural dexterity.
