I'll never forget the story my dad always tells when I introduce him to one of my friends. It goes a little like this.... When I was about 3 years old my dad was working from home and I had just come downstairs to ask him to play Mario Bros. on the Nintendo. Of course I only had the attention span of a little boy, so about 5 minutes later I was bored, and he was back plugging away at his work. There I went to the next thing on my mind. The house was quiet so my dad wondered what kind of trouble I was up to. He came around the corner about 5 minutes later, and there I was on a chair, screwdriver in hand, taking the cover plate off of the light switch. Ever since that moment I've always been the type of person wondering how things work, taking different things apart, and building different things for fun or for my personal use. My dad has always been my inspiration to push through and go far in life. He has taught me honesty, and always made me realize that if you put your mind to something you can achieve it. Now 21 years later here I am a Construction major at UW-Stout and I still think about that moment everyday. I have gotten involved on campus as the Maintenance Director of the UW-Stout Waterski Team, and a member of Chi Lambda Fraternity. I want to start my own business building houses in the future and further my experience in the construction industry.
