  • United States Marine Corps
    Information Technology Manager
United States Marine Corps Mar 2017 - Jun 2018
    Washington, Dc, Us
I led a dynamic help desk providing direct help desk support to the senior executive (2 star General), his senior staff, and their staffs comprising over 250 Marines, Sailors, and civilians. This job required flexibility and problem solving skills working with a demanding clientele to provide responsive customer support. As the Manager to 8 IT specialists with experience ranging from 3 - 15 years, I was solely responsible for the training, performance, and welfare of the eight Marines under my charge. I worked diligently with my supervisor and key team leaders to develop a culture of rapid learning and high performance. Additionally, my team and I developed innovative information management processes to reduce rework over 25% and decrease customer wait time to resolution by 15%.

Finally, I worked with lower and higher echelon communication professionals to develop and implement policies regarding the appropriate use of information technology, reviewed requests for additional resources, and advise the business unit's Senior IT Lead on all matters pertaining to corporate information technology infrastructure.
I accounted for and maintained 200 pieces of equipment worth over $700,000.
I conducted and oversaw the risk management program for my section, ensuring safety in the corporate, tactical, and off-duty environments. During my tenure, we had no safety incidents, on duty or off duty.
  • United States Marine Corps
    Information Technology Project Lead
United States Marine Corps Jan 2017 - May 2017
    Washington, Dc, Us
As the lead exercise Information Technology Officer, I planned, coordinated, supervised and adapted the installation and operation of all information technology systems for two geographically distant sites with 10 Marines and 6 civilians under my charge (two of which were part of a different agency and had competing priorities). Through the intelligent application of soft skills, technical expertise, and teamwork, we were able to meet the demanding and often fluid requirements of senior staff and senior executive, including several Colonels and a Major General (two-star). The communications capabilities we provided resulted in the successful integration and training of over 60 Marine and Navy aviation control staff in a simulated combat environment.
Additionally, as part of exercise preparation, I developed an innovative approach to completing required administrative documentation for all end users (resulting in an unprecedented 99.5% completion rate prior to exercise start) that has now become standard practice for the unit and saved over 40 man-hours per exercise.
