I started at Mayo Corporation as a laborer providing construction staking and topographic collection and then advanced to a field crew chief. Later I provided construction observation for sanitary sewer, water main, and storm sewer installations and street constructions. I began my office work as an Engineer-in-training and provided drafting for site design and subdivision plans. I earned my Professional Engineering license and then designed sites and subdivisions and managed field crews and engineers-in-training. Eventually I became partner at Mayo Corporation.
