"Win today, and we walk together forever" - Fred SheroI am an aspiring Sport Psychologist, currently in my third undergraduate year at Elizabethtown College. As a Psychology major I have participated in not only rigorous course work, but also numerous related experiences such as Faculty led research, internships, and athletic development. As an athlete growing up, the concept of winning was important. It meant that we scored more runs or scored more goals than the other team. Though, wins are not always that and can be little things. Winning for me is finding something to improve, improving it, and seeing a result. This is why I see development to be an issue and something to work on with high performance athletes. I, unfortunately, see high performance athletes who look for strides that are too big rather than taking a methodical, and growth-based approach to a win. I strive to share the growth mindset with high performance athletes and seek out wins on both small and big scales to aid in development.
